Help Deciding 7870 LE / XT or 7950

Which would you go for and why? Is the 7950 worth the extra $50-60?
Also I see some 7950's at 850 and some at 900Mhz. Is there anything special about one over the other? I ask since the core edition 7870 and that Tahiti core are much different so wasn't sure if one has something amped up on it.

Go for the 7950. Don't worry about that 50mhz as you can usually push these card cards a bit higher than 900. I would always go for a bottom of the barrel, so to speak, of the better model than a lower model with bells and whistles.

Hello, I live in Canada. The best deals I have seen are off of NCIX but being from the US originally I don't know of all the good Canadian online retailers. I do know that newegg.ca tried to charge me 19% on a 15% restocking fee yesterday which makes me say screw that, and I've been shopping with newegg since 2001. (not the Cdn version though).

Is the stock cooling, or card layout, or anything else that much better on a 7950? A guy in the 7870 Tahiti thread said they are basically the same.

the PCB layout on these 2 cards are totally different. The Tahiti LE chip that is on a 7870 is a downsized tahiti compared to the 7900 series.
Due to the different layout on the PCB there isn't a full size waterblock made for the 7870 myst, 7870XT, 7870 Jokercard and the XFX core 7870.

I won't be using water, is the PCB layout that much better still determining which to go with. Temps/ Power usage does the 7950 win? It does in the reviews I read but none the less I'm still going to ask those who may have more experience with them.
