Ragnarok Build, Dual Opteron 16 Core, 64GB Ram and Soon to be Crossfire R9 290X - Page 14

Yes sir. Most newer games will used multi cores processors. Some have a setting that whatever cores you got the more it will unlock to used. The new Xbox and PS4 used 8 core CPU. So I can image in the next few yrs there will be 8 to 16 cores around on desktop and 32 and 64 on workstation wink.gif

Upon further gaming it seems BF4 can use 32 cores whilst its loading the game but normal gameplay seems to just "idle" around on 8-16 cores

A.W.E.S.O.M.E. build! Props to you in the highest thumb.gif Please tell me you fold on this bad boy? Somewhat amazing it's only pulling 400W under load, my sig rig pulls ~340/350.

I'll get you the figure under 100% cpu and gfx load sometime, currently my wattage meter is on my UPS testing its power draw

If i could overclock it'd be insane due to the pure amount of cores i have even 500mhz extra would result in 16ghz of extra speed in total.

Swapped my PC and server case around as well as swapped to one of the HX1050's i have

Reorganised cables and moved the graphics up to the higher slot to check clearances as i am "soon" to be going to dual 290 or 290x's

I still need to sort the top fans to ensure everything is running as cool as it can be

it aint cheap tongue.gif most things dont support so many cores either though i have seen BF4 peak at 16 cores very VERY briefly.

I need to get wattage meter on it again and see if the tweakings i did helped smile.gif and especially before i get crossfire 290 or 290x's tongue.gif
