Bad score on 3DMark (Bad Physics score) i5 3570k

Thread Starter
I used to have 7200 score on physics test@3dmark, on 3570k stock (didn't oc) and I returned my pc to the retailers since I had a problem with the power supply. now I have @5800 scores, max was 5950. can't even get to the 6000.
I checked my memory MHZ, it was on 1333 and I changed it to 1600. It didn't help though. I got multi-threading on (I think, on the task manager it shows I have but I can't really find it on the BIOS).

i5-3570k 3.4 ghz@3.8
MSI GTX 670 OC
Bios version is F14 (B75M-D3H).

Thanks! if theres anything more I have to do or post I'll.

Let's get the obvious stuff out of the way first.

Are all your drivers up to date? Including the actual PhysX driver, too.
In your Nvidia Control Panel is your GPU selected as preferred device?

Right click Desktop > Nvidia Control Panel > Configure Surround, PHYSX

When you say "returned PC to the retailer" what kind of retailer? Are they a proper computer shop? Or just a basic electronics retailer?
Might be a long shot, but they may not have connected the power to the GPU correctly or at all.

It's a proper computer shop, I bought the whole rig from them. The PhysX is selected on Auto-select but underneath it points on the gtx 670. I've got the newest drivers but for my gtx 670 I've got the new beta released for metro last light. I'm pretty sure they did connect the gpu correctly because the Graphics score I get are alright and in all games I get high fps as ususal, as well as seen in benchmarks, I keep on comparing me to others on different games and the gpu is doing good. about the cpu, I don't know what happened.

I believe PhysX has nothing to do with physics score.

I also think that but still, I got my ram on 1600 and everything seems right. Any suggestions? I don't know what to do. The 3DMark site says my pc should score higher and shows a "dead battery" icon on the physics score.

Run it again but before you do check properly that there is nothing else running in the background that is eating CPU.

Also offtopic but why a b75 motherboard and a 3570k (rather than z77 which would allow you to clock that CPU properly)?

When I got the rig I didn't know shet about pcs. I already ordered an extreme4. smile.gif
And when I did it, even this time, I checked everything isn't running on background. Closed all origin/steam/skype/softwares or w/e, even closed Rainmeter. couldn't think of something else, I followed everything opened on the task manager and closed whatever I didn't need

Try putting memory on colour coordinated slots
put the memory on the white slot and leave the blue slot empty (if you have 2 memory sticks)

since your motherboard is b75, you can't oc

also, try running stability tests like prime 95 or intelburntest.

http://www.overclock.net/t/1353894/i5-3570-oc-to-4-2-3dmark-physics-score-6699-isnt-that-extremely-low/10
this thread explains some of your problems.
