[Fud] GeForce GTX 780 comes on May 23rd @ 500 euro - Page 15

3 GB is about enough right now, but just wait till new gen games start coming out, we are going to need more, ps4 has ~7 GB of VRAM/RAM... Developers will make use of them and we will need more...

About the price, I'm betting on 590 € at least, I hope I'm wrong...

PS4 has 7GB GDDR5 RAM doh.gif

My 480 GTX SLI still rock the party, and one 780 would probably be a a 'relative' increase for 600$. I just hope 680 prices plum it so i can go SLI on those CHEAP.

Well I am not quite sure about everything PS4 related. But isn't the PS4 able to let the CPU and the GPU use the RAM ?

What? Only 500€? That is the price of a expensive 680 in my country. I might grab another 670 down the line.

It actually has 8 GB of GDDR5 RAM that is shared for CPU/GPU ergo VRAM/RAM (http://www.pushsquare.com/news/2013/02/playstation_4_specifications_harness_extraordinary_power)...

I've defended AMD numerous times as can be verified in my post history.

Fact is Nvidia gets slammed on this forum 10 times as much as AMD does and it's always the same people.

BTW, you didn't see my post in the Titan thread where I slammed Nvidia for boost 2.0 or where I slammed Nvidia for project Shield being a waste did you? wink.gif

Uh, to be fair $550 is still well within the price that most people say is OK for a flagship to cost and is a looong way away from the $1k Titan. Second, I guarantee you everybody here will be quite pleased if the 780 comes in at JUST $550....

though I doubt any of these estimates could be proven as fact, you could swap the names "AMD" and "Nvidia" around in your sentence and it would be just as true around here. that's just what the hardware news section has become.

yea, the 7970 was priced evenly with the gtx580 3GB. in nvidia's absence AMD priced there card in the typical nvidia flagship range. in AMD's absence nvidia priced the 690 at $1,000 and the titan at $1,000. I'm so sorry I just don't see the similarity in both pricing schemes. the worst move AMD made as far as a card release was the 7990 malta at $1,000 before they fix the cf frametime issue. that's one thing that will still never make sense to me.

Yeah, $1k for the 7990 is the dumbest thing I've ever seen. Who wouldn't just get two 7970GE's for less money???
