never been much into gaming laptops, but that MSI does seem pretty good for the price.

I certainly hope so, but wouldn't count on it, at least not if the $400(?) price guesstimates for the 770 are correct.

Quote:

Like the GTX 680M, the GTX 780M is based on the Kepler architecture. It features eight of the SMX units enabled, as compared to the seven that were enabled on the GTX 680M. Consequently, the card has 1536 CUDA cores running. This is the same number found on the desktop version of the GTX 680. Of course, though, the clockspeeds are notably lower on the GTX 780M due to restrictions in heat production and power consumption for laptops and mobile devices. The core clock speed is at 771 MHz with a Boost speed of 797 MHz, featuring the newer Boost 2.0 technology.

The 780m looks like it is the desktop 680 (downclocked)

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Going to be an interesting competition between the two on the mobile front.

ha. In all fairness this one does seem to qualify as news, though, at least as much as all the other product announcements that make up most of this section. At least it's not a direct link to a press release.

I think you missed the most important part of the initial quote. I have bolded it for you. You should roll your eyes somewhere else.

I couldn't care less what you report about, I was chiming with the facts that it is a rebrand of the 7970M, nothing more.
