RAM Upgrade advice.

Thread Starter
Hi,

Lately I have been having memory issues with being over 80% very regularly. I do game a lot.

I would also like to get a performance increase also. My CPU is currently overclocked to 5.0GHz (SandyBridge).

I am currently using this RAM
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231445

And this MOBO
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131701

The MOBO says it supports up to 2200.

I think I would like to go for 16GBs of RAM just not sure if I should get 4x4 or 2x8 and which set of RAM.

Any recommendations would be great.

Thanks,

I would pick up another 2x8 set of the same brand to get 16GB. You should theoretically see that 80% memory usage drop down to below 40%.

i love thoose ripjawsX you have, have used 2 kits myself of a slightly different model at one stage for a total of 16GB without any issues
i would grab another kit to get 16GB if i were you.

They are not bad outta the box.

Love tridentX as well like mentioned by the above user.

I personally would go with first reply and pickup a second set.
Easier than replacing all of it. unless you really want to go with a higher mhz
I wouldnt imagine the difference on the ram load would be too different though
just quicker

Nice mobo btw :-)

I would definently recommend going 16GB's. I think your best option would be to just buy two more 4GB sticks of the same ram your using. If not then 2x 8GB sticks would be nice too.

I would recommend 2X8 GB because you will have the ability to expand in the future. I would recommend the G.SKILL Trident X Series 16GB: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231623
