Samsung SSD 840 500gb used a second hard drive probelm

So i bought a plextor msata 128GB and a samsung 840 500gb for my m14x r2. I first installed the msata and put a fresh copy of windows 7 on there. After updating all the drivers and windows updates I put in the samsung 840 to use for file storage and games. The samsung 840 worked fine for 3 weeks then all of a sudden it dismounted from windows by it self. I could not see it in device manager or disk management at all. I always use cystaldisk mark to check for error and found nothing before it happened.

I went and restarted my computer and bios was able to detect it. I let the computer start and it took over two hours for the computer to load. When I took the samsung 840 out the computer booted in 30sec or less. I am able to see the it disk management and also in the intel rapid storage technology program it shows up and with only 1gb of free space.

I have been unable to find out was to fix it since most people use the 840 for the OS and not as a secondary drive. Any help on how to fix this would be great.

This is gonna sound stupid, but use a different SATA cable. When I still used EVGA products, they used to ship really crappy SATA cables with their motherboards and I'd often have what seemed like hard drive failures, forcing me to reformat, lose data, rebuild my entire rig...etc. Then one day I tried just using a different SATA cable and all my problems went away.
