I would stick with ivy, sell the 680, buy a 1000w psu 80+gold and save just a bit more and go 2x 780 or even 1 initially and a 2nd a bit later. The titan is just priced so high that if you are only looking to get 1, unless it is for a htpc or sff, it isn't worth the price/performance compared to 2 780s even if the 780s are $650-$700(most likely $600). You would be looking at @20% more performance for minimum $300 more for the titan or you could get 60%-80% more performance than titan for MAX $400 more with 2x 780s.

And since there isn't the micro-stutter problem on nvidias side that shouldn't be a deterrent.

That is my dilemma as well. I don't feel safe going forward with 3GB, but the options at 4GB+ are scarce.

To be honest, I think 3GB seems to be the right size for this graphics cards. Most applications and games should run fine with 3GB of memory. Until we get 4K displays in a couple years, we shouldn't run into any memory problems. Also, more memory is more money, and the potential of wasted resources. I don't think it's a good idea to go all out on a mass produced product and dump 5GB+ ram on this video card.

Same here, I actually have a 1 over 3 setup and I didn't know that I wasn't going to be able to do nvidia surround plus an extra monitor at the same time with the 580s, so I ended up not using surround and now I just game on the middle screen.

And I ended up getting a worse k/d ratio on bf3 since I used to play on one monitor at 120hz with the lightboost hack.

Hopefully I'll be able to run the nvidia surround at 120 fps with 2-3 780s even if i have to lower the eye candy a little bit.

Upgrade? Dude i definitely dont considers that an upgrade though.....you'll be getting 20% maximum improvement from your current card translating to about 5-8 frames difference where it makes little difference anyhow cause the 680 can run most games 1080p 60+fps. Heck i dont even have close to the GPU you have and sill contemplate is it worth it over waiting for Maxwell.

I also urge you if you feel that you are dead set on it sell your 680 now! Resale value will fall pretty dramatically after the release of the "new" cards. thumb.gif
