Hi,

I would like to ask about budget IPS Monitor for Movies and Gaming and occasional editing. Must have HDMI and Vesa.

I'm thinking of:

Asus VS239H/Asus VS239H-P
LG IPS234V/LG IPS234V-PN

Also, are these models the same?

from the sites:
Asus VS239H - 14ms
Asus VS239H-P - 5ms

LG IPS234V - 5ms
LG IPS234V-PN - 14ms

Thanks!

I dont recomend you any cheap IPS panel. I got one(u2312hm) and considering selling it as fast as possible. Glowing at darker scenes(not only black) visible even at day hurts my eyes. So i would recomend to look for some MVA or TN pannel.

But its normal for IPS to have the bleeding right?

Asus VS239H-P - 5ms is probably your best bet

Look into (new) LG 23EA63V-P as well http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824005406

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
If you move up to 1920x1200 then there's other options
$260 ASUS VS24AH-P http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236331

^ may be AH-IPS

I say forget those 2 and I will suggest buying the ASUS PA248Q thumb.gif ...& don't turn back or you'll turn into a pillar of salt whistle.gif
Here's a review to read... http://www.kitguru.net/peripherals/monitors/zardon/asus-pa248q-proart-monitor-review/

This IPS screen is awesome! I've been using it for about two months now, experiencing no ghosting (has a neat setting call "trace free" wheee.gif ), and the grid function you can use while photo editing or what ever graphic presentation work you are creating is sooooo cool & useful.

Well, the choice is yours...Thought I would share my 2cents.gif ...Good luck with your search thumb.gif

BTW...Whatever IPS monitor you buy, don't forget to test your screen for dead pixels. Go to www.deadpixelbuddy.com biggrin.gif

Aha! Another excellent monitor thumb.gif ...Read this review... http://www.prad.de/en/monitore/review/2011/review-asus-pa238q.html
It's definitely better than the 2 you are considering but the question is would you spend that much for a 1080p IPS monitor?
I would but that's me winksmiley02.gif

Here's the written review for the video review w/more info... http://wecravegamestoo.com/forums/monitor-reviews-discussion/9495-asus-pa238q-ips-review.html
