Experiencing massive bf3 frame drops with Asus 7950 DC2

About a month ago, I upgraded to an ASUS VG248QE 144hz. For about 2 weeks I was running BF3 on 1280*720 with only mesh and shadow on Medium quality, all else on low. I had 100 fps constant with not normal frame drops to 98-99. For some reason, after 2 weeks of receiving the monitor, BF3 starts plunging in frames. 60-70 and then back up to 90. I have reformatted twice and have reverted to AMD drivers 13.1, 13.2 and 13.3 with all the same outcome. Any help would be appreciated because this is really frustrating me.

Worst case scenario it would be a bad card. Thing is I've ran benchmarks that put my card in Normal status.

Increase your resolution, your CPU is probably getting bottlenecked by that extremely low res when I played that game at 1440x900 I was getting 80-90 FPS on ultra without MSAA, no post and no blur. If on metro then 120-200 fps and that's with only a 560 ti @930MHz. I don't think it's your card because a 7950 is way better than mine.

I tried playing at 1600*900 and I would still get those frame drops. FFS. My DC2 is at 800MHz * 1250Mhz. I've been playing with stocks the whole time besides power limit at +20 and at first all was well. Now this.

Do you monitor your GPU usage to see if you're at greater than 90% usage with something like MSI afterburner? Maybe run higher settings? Some games for whatever reason don't run their best on lower settings.

I was playing a match of Metro TDM and was hitting 75 fps. GPU usage is at 80-90 %, it was never that high before. Vram usage at 700 Mb. Temps at 49 degrees cels. at 25% fan.

What are your current in game settings , resolution, AA, etc. ?

And why would you play BF3 at only 1280 x 720 when your monitor is Full HD capable and you have HD7950 which can handle BF3 at Full HD with maximum settings?

Your card is fine, it's probably some driver/game issue or you have changed your in game quality settings and now you have lower FPS.

Hmm that's odd I should think you would be getting much higher fps especially at your settings. Hopefully someone with a 7950 will hop in on this, and give feedback. Not many people are running at 720p anymore though. I usually was playing on bazaar but the karkand maps like Gulf did wreck my fps pretty good but I think it was still in the high 50's and ~60 fps. You should probably be getting way better than 75 fps in metro.
