My rig Crashes under load,Not sure why - Page 4

Simply having to switch between input voltages manually is a bad sign in the first place. That PSU is most likely a piece of crap and dying. It most likely can't power the GTX 280 alone (or barely), let alone the rest of the rig. I'd suggest replacing it asap. If it would be something being instable, you'd get a BSOD. Not getting one means that the power is suddenly gone => PSU issue.

it's not a modular unit. That doesn't bother me too much,I'm so used to semi modular PSU's that i've about given up on good looking cable management lol.

CX600 is good as well. Check for reviews on places like [H] and JohnnyGuru that do very thorough testing if you want to be absolutely sure.

Your suspicion is correct..It's the PSU.
Get a 750-850w with a single 12v rail.
Thermaltake tr2,Lepa,Enermax,Kingwin(higher-end ones)..Rosewill,Seasonic,Silverstone.

I would honestly go with the Rosewill instead of the Corsair in this instance simply because, fully modular. I believe this peticular rosewill is taking some of the components from a seasonic or something like that. I do like corsair's warrenty though...
Whichever you pick will work perfectly. thumb.gif

Yeah that processor seems bad ass, How many applications can use 8 core.Is there quite a few? That processor is ahead of it's time,I'm surprised Intel doesn't have an 8 core processor.
Well i guess they had skull trail and Xeon,But that was 2 processors.

Intel does have 8-core CPU's, but they charge for them in the form of Xeons. I had an FX 8320 for a bit, it was a fun CPU and OC'd to 5.15ghz on water.

Intel sure does have 8-core CPUs, my workstation at work contains two of them. 32 threads with hyperthreading turned on. The thing is a computational beast.
