New to posting, but long time geek!

Thread Starter
Hi, I am Ray, I really haven't posted much, but read plenty. I am an old geek, in 06 I got a couple comptia certs and took Microsoft and Cisco classes.
My 1st build was with a P4 3.06Ghz (cost me over $700) with a Saphire Radeon 9800,
512 Rambus ram (when 512 was alot) I had an Asus board with switches and pins to overclock I ran it around 3.3Ghz mild OC but used stock heatsink and fan.
(didn't know any better)

Now, If my cars stop breaking down I want to build a decent rig. I have most of the parts and trying to save for the rest.

Corsair CC-9011011-WW Carbide Series 400R
Ultra X4 Modular 850-Watt ATX Power Supply V2 80+ Silver
2x OCZ 120G Agility 3 (plan on raid 0 hopefully haswell will support trim in raid)
2x 2x4GB Patriot Viper 3 Extreme Ram (16GB)
Corsair H60 (temp till I save to build custom water loop)
1x evga 560 ti
1x 560 ti (stock) (Plan to run them in SLI) (got a great deal on CL for the pair)
Currently running AMD QUAD-CORE A8-3870K 3.0GHZ APU (OCed to 3.5GHz unstable above that) & MSI A55M-P33 FM1 Motherboard, the evga Vcard and 8 Gbs of the ram.
bought the board and cpu to hold me till haswell. Will pass the apu and board down to my 10yr old son I have 8Gb of ram to put in it too.

What I want !!!
ROG motherboard
I7 4770k to OC the heck out of!
bluray burner (lowest priority)
build a custom water loop

I have plenty of other computers in my house too. Each of my kids have a desktop I have a
media PC with 1x 120Gb ssd and 4x 3TB drive
( Ialso have the old 4x 2TBs put away till I need them again it's old drives they got close to full)
That computer runs on an AMD PHENOM II X6 1045T,Gigabyte 880GM-USB3 AMD 880G,
EVGA GeForce GT 520 1GB, 16GB Patriot ram, and Cooler Master eXtreme Power Plus 700w to power it.

I also have 2x AMD Brazo system AMD 1.3Ghz E-300 CPU onboard 4GB ddr3 and 120GB SSD (eBay Link )
(perfect little machines to use as set top boxes and stream perfect 1080p from media pc across my gigabit network.) my old ideapad and wifes notebooks are nothing to
talk about although my y430 still holds its own with it's SSD upgrade.

Welcome to the forum! Whenever you get any sizable amount of money, OCN will be sure to snatch it right out from under you, and throw it into your computer wink.gif
