Video for the OP:

Depending on the TIM, a rice grain or a small BB size is all you need.

Nice man that sounds like a fun ride! Yea I wasn't kidding either, 491HP for the Scooby Snack. Had to pretty much change out everything in the car so the transmission wasn't left behind at the green light.

So how did the block turn out?

Since all it appears to function as a massive heat pipe, try removing the silver decorative plate first, and then take a dremel diamond bit to eat away at the copper. You can try Dremel 7134 then 7123, but you'll need clamps and very steady hands. Or if you can secure a drill press, then it'll make the process a lot easier.

Was my first thought too. That is way over what is required. Like 2-3x as much from the looks of it.

yes a lot of the paste was removed in the process of spreading it out, i def went overboard. been a long day and ive really stopped caring at this point tongue.gif
Don't spread it manually... you're introducing air and won't be as even.
Once again...

your poor poor cpu!!! tongue.gif
BB sized dot in the middle (test on paper first to see how it covers) then let the block do its job in applying pressure and spreading the paste on the cpu without air bubbles.

sweet board, gl getting the block on
