Could I use it in a single loop using DI water and Monsoon Silver Bullets?

The reason I ask is that on Koolance's website it says something about not using it with silver:

That is their warranty policy for nickel plated blocks, there is no nickel in the reservoir or anything that could be damaged or corroded by any type of fluid so it doesn't apply.

It doesn't come with a pump included, right?
If so, any pump recommendations? smile.gif

You are looking at a Laing D5 for the koolance res.

Swiftech makes a MCP 655 which I believe is a pretty common pick
http://www.swiftech.com/mcp655.aspx

Koolance also has a recommended pump (also a D5)

Any D5 will do but depending on your case, because of the design of the res getting access to the rear of the pumps to adjust their speed can be difficult. It is not a major thing because you can just slide the whole unit forward out of the front bays enough to get access and once they are set to the right speed you don't really need to change them.
That being said having the PWM control of the Swiftech PWM D5's or the USB control of the Aquacomputer D5 does come in handy and is much less awkward.
Just be sure to get one of the models that includes an RPM reporting wire at the very least. Without that there is often no definite feedback the pump is turning and pumping.

Thanks for the info! thumb.gif

Because the 452X2 is so expensive, does anyone have any opinions on the XSPC D5 Dual Bay res? It's almost a third of the price of the Koolance on Performance PC. tongue.gif

The XSPC bay res is just your basic plexi glass bay res with a d5 mount, It doesn't have fancy bling bits on it like the Koolance, just a brushed aluminium face plate.

It will do the job just as well how ever.

I had one of the XSPC dual bay reservoirs for dual liang ddcs and it was a good reservoir. I switched recently to the RP 402x2 (discontinued?) and would never go back. The weight of the koolance reservoir greatly reduces noise from the pump vibration (or it has for me at least). Plus I personally think it looks better. Proper placement and a bit of patience, and bleeding is not that hard.
