Mechanical versus Rubber dome...

Hi, I am looking at getting another keyboard for my current set-up.

I have recently purchased a G510 Logitech gaming keyboard, but soon found out that it was rubberdome not mechanical.

I am just thinking about changing to a MAX X8 nighthawk keyboard

Would I notice much of a difference with the brown cherry mx switches over the rubber dome ?

I know this is probably a stupid question but thought I would just check anyway smile.gif

Note* I use the keyboard for mainly gaming, and the occasional work.

Were you happy with it before you found out this fact? If so you don't need to replace it yet just for the sake of going mech. However if you aren't happy typing on it then by all means get a good mech, just don't expect it will make you frag 20 times more enemy or type an extra 120 words per minute.... it won't. It will sound sweet and (user depending) be nicer to type on.

I find mechanical much nicer to type with, and more reliable. Rubber dome is poo, but you won't see any performance advantage given identical key size and spacing.

I guess its all right, I just found out about mech's and heard they are way better than rubber dome

I also heard quality wise that they will last a lot longer, so I thought maybe selling this one and putting the money towards a better keyboard.
