Hi! Welcome to my first build log, hope you will enjoy it
BLACK & WHITE CORSAIR 350D
The color theme for the build will be black and white (obviously
), but also a few red and grey notes. I already built a red themed build in the 800D 3 years ago, and I'm sure they will be a lot of red themed 350D on this forum, so I decided to go with white this time! The objective is to make the perfect rig for daily use and gaming, while keeping it silent. For me the 350D is the perfect size to put the rig on my desktop, without living in the shadow of a huge tower (900D
). I am kinda perfectionist so I will try to make this rig look as good as possible, and all your remarks and comments are welcome.

If you're going to get a GTX 770, I'd save some money and just grab a 680 instead. The 770 will be a rebranded 680. You might be able to catch the 680 on sale during the initial release of the 7xx GPUs. Still, subbed

Should definitely look at the Z87 Gryphon m-atx board, looks awesome and no red theme. Then maybe just put a sticker over the red AX part of your PSU to match.

Okay I admit this motherboard fits the color scheme pretty well.
Here is another photoshoped picture with a cropped sabertooth (supposed to be a gryphon
You have the exact build i've had in mind since the case was announced, down to the color scheme! I like the black and white look a lot and can't wait to see your finished build.
I already have the H100i, 2x SP120 Quiet Editions for the rads, and the AX760 PSU in my closet and waiting on the rest. I might have to just copy the rest of yours too
What made you go with the rad in the front as outtakes and the top/back as intakes?

Thanks !
It's funny you almost have exactly the same parts than me
The fans in front are as intake to push-pull fresh air into the rad, and the top/back are outtakes. Top is as outtake because there are no dust filters there and I don't want dust to be sucked in the case. Back is as outtake mainly for look purposes, I want that white plastic ring to be visible.

So I saw an interesting thread on changing the color of the closed loop water cooler's tubes. Basically you buy 3/8 diameter vinyl tubing and paint it the color you want (you can also buy precolored tubing but that costs more) then cut it down the length of the tube and wrap it around the Coolers tubing. The guy painted his white and he had a similar color scheme and it looked pretty good. I'm planning on doing this with my 350d since its cheap to do and if I dont like it then I only wasted $5
You can check out the thread here if its something you are interested in

Thank you it's definitely a good idea!
This mod is great for the H100 (non i version) because the tubes are very thin and look cheap.
I'm a little scared about putting to much white in my rig, will have to wait until it's finished before adding white on the tubing.
Thanks! I just can't wait for Haswell to be available
I just got the case, it's awesome!
Update coming this evening or tomorrow
Now I'm wondering about the GPU, I'm a 1920x1200 gamer so I really think the gtx-770 is a wise choice. Plus I found this Gainward Phantom really matching the color scheme.
Any thoughts on this card ?

Well, it was just released like the other day..... lol
I have a 670 ftw which should be perfect for 1920x1080 (my resolution). The 770 has about 5-10 more frames per second than the 670 and its just a little bit faster than the 680. The cooler on that Gainward is supposed to be good though too. I sort of wished I waited for this card :/ I thought the 700 series wouldn't be out till late summer so I bought a 670.... and I have yet to put together my build!!! (my case arrives today)
For gaming at 1920 x 1200, why not get a 7970? You can get them for around $360 and perform on par (if not better) than the 770. The gainward 770 would also be good, but it's just released and may not be available yet. Oooorrrrr with the release of the 770 and 780, you may soon be able to find an evga 680 sold for around that price; and it would match your color scheme beautifully
Now that I'm pretty sure I'll get the Gainward GTX-770 Phantom, the last (hard) choice is the motherboard.
I consider 3 possibilities:
Asus Z87 Gryphon with the thermal armor, but I really don't like the brown notes on the board.
Asus Maximum VI Gene, the red would fit with the AX760 sticker, but maybe there is to much red for a "black&white" build
Asrock Z87m extreme4 would fit the color scheme, but I'm not really an Asrock fan
I need some advices
