See that image? take the horrible band cfx produce lets talk about 690 and titan..
Even that the 690 have a ticker band at that kind of performance "ms" its not visible to the end user...

And both titan and 690 have spikes so XD
Yes, they both spike here and there, but there is far more variance in the 690, that is why the line is so much thicker. From what I saw this is a noticeable difference.

You cannot let dual card setups go wild XD

At least me when i use 2 cards is to turn settings up and to cap my framerate @ 60 crysis 3 make me buy a 2nd card this time..
One card is not enough in this game.. Titan dont have the right performance either.

Titan you would need 2 cards as the best setup..

That being said, the 690 is the obvious winner assuming you never go above about 1200p, perhaps 1440p... 1600p and beyond is really, really pushing the vram limits.

Well, when you say it's been passed on I hope you aren't referring to the 7990 malta. It may be the fastest, but speed is just on aspect in my determination of "best". That card still has too many typical dual gpu issues, though AMD did a good job in a few areas too. There are several other things to consider, and when you take into account nvidia's improved frame metering on kepler, the 690's efficiency and good thermal and acoustic performance, it single handedly wiped out most of the reason I vowed NEVER to buy a dual gpu card, like ever. If i spend any more than $600 on gpus I am not going 1200p or 1080p, it'll be 1440p minimum, likely 5760x1080. At the end of the day it's a 2GB card and I knew from my 6950 (flashed) eyefinity days that such a setup has no future above 1080p (and even 1080p with AA is becoming an issue already) so that's why I could never do a 690.

According to someone, you should not be posting your opinion here either.

I didn't even think seriously about getting a titan (though i still feel it's the best option at $1K) because I knew that within 4-8 months Nvidia and likely AMD would definitely release far cheaper cards with either near titan performance or more. That's just how it works. If titan was $700 i would have bought one soon after release. I'm not gonna derail this thread or anything, just giving my opinion on the two cards named in the press release as a consumer.

Well yeah, and a video posted in this thread has proven that with good drivers the 7990 is a seriously sweet piece of work. But we really need to just get past that and stay focused on why the titan sells more than the 690.

Because almost everybody went for 2x680's same as would be for amd side of things.

They overclock better, they are easy to move around and sell, watercooling etc...

I ran it with vsync on, because I was initially getting obscene tearing. Still looked a lot worse than 60 fps, and I wouldn't have believed it if fraps wasn't running in the background telling me otherwise.

And you can't call the titan "not good enough" or that it doesnt have the performance just because of a game which is designed purely to push the limits of available graphics tech. In every single other game barring crysis and metro series, the titan just sort of laughs it off like it aint no thang.

This thread has been cleaned (again rolleyes.gif), and I'm closing it down for a cooling off period. There's been WAY too much OT, pointless bickering, and personal attacks going here. Apologies to those who actually are behaving properly/according to ToS redface.gif

And just a reminder ... not to sound all high and mighty, but determining what constitutes 'off-topic' is the job of the staff. If you feel posts are OT, please report them, and do not quote or reply to them, and move on. Thank you!
