Powercolor 7950 Issues

Thread Starter
I've recently started having problems with the new 7950 I've purchased (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131478) I've been using it for a couple of days and have had no issues but just 20 minutes ago, both my monitors started flickering and ended up hardlocking shortly thereafter. My main screen had stripes of green across the entire screen while the other monitor was purely white. I restarted and I had to completely remove the power for a bit for it work but would only do so if I used one monitor, if I had both plugged it the screen would remain black. Once I restarted again, the screen became extremely choppy (think slideshow) and I could hear loud beeps coming through my head phones for each single frame of the slideshow. Are there any solutions or is this a case in which I should RMA the card?

UPDATE: plugged in 2nd monitor, works just fine.

Edit : I was playing dota 2 while this happened. Card is not OC'd.

The card might be overheating. Set the fan speed up some.

I don't know how to check the VRM temp.

You can check them under the sensors tab on GPU-Z.

^this or you can also use this . . .

http://www.hwinfo.com/download64.html

scroll down to see the temps if your card has the sensors. keep them under 80C (my preference).

Whatever you do, do not call out to Powercolor. The last rep they had was amazing but Denny just makes me want to jump off of a cliff... He's entirely ignorant and has no clue... If you end up having any issues with calling out there and Denny can't help you just message me on here, I'll see about giving you someone better in the company to call.
Thanks, yodazb

Watching it flicker right now with both VRM temps at 64C. This machine was running a gtx 470 prior. Could this have anything to do with it? I've uninstalled the previous drivers and booted into safemode to use driver sweeper. Oh, I'm using an HDMI to the 1st monitor and using the DVI to 2nd monitor. Flickering happens uniformly across both screens. I haven't had the green stripes / white screen thing happen aain though.

I may be wrong but I think I'd consider it a dead card. Do you have any other systems you can try the gpu in?
