How is walking into a location with Google Glasses grounds for reasonable suspicion of you recording? Several states have open firearm carry laws. If openly carrying a firearm isn't grounds for reasonable suspicion of armed assault (bearing in mind in some states you can open carry into a bank without fear of arrest), on what legal grounds should Google Glass be treated differently?

Just having a device isn't grounds to believe it will be used. It isn't illegal to bring a video camera in to a movie theatre. It is illegal to record the movie however. If you have the video camera on your lap in plain sight, the theatre will ask to review the contents or ask you to leave (with a comped ticket to boot). They won't call the cops unless they see you actively recording.

Many people are buying these with prescriptions and using them as real glasses too. There's people that are legally blind without their glasses, including myself. Do they really expect these people to walk around blind while in their store?

I can fully understand Strip Clubs, Cinemas, and Casinos not allowing them, but they also don't allow you to take pictures with your phone for OBVIOUS reasons. McDonalds on the other hand should not have anything they need to hide or be afraid of being recorded. There's no invasion of privacy by recording in those places.. They wouldn't kick you out for taking pictures with your phone.

I knew these would cause a huge uproar, but I really hope places like McDonalds and stuff are not allowed to ban them. If these take off like google plans, people with prescriptions will be required to carry around 2 pairs of glasses, swapping them depending on the store. Ultimately, I just wouldn't use google glass because it'd be way too much of a hassle.

I know it's their right but, what's their reason to ban GG in mcdo?

Another thing, I'm pretty sure that they don't care if you take out your smartphone and start recording while you are on your table eating, why can't you do that with GG?

It's not like customers are allowed to go in their kitchen to see their trade secrets.

What are they trying to hide? It makes no sense. They aren't showing copywrited films or anything. They need to have a good reason for banning something from a store that's open to the general public.. Otherwise, where does it stop, lets ban a certain type of footwear just because the store was paid by a company to not allow their competition in the store. It shouldn't be legal to ban a product "just because".

The only places I can see that should be allowed to ban GG would be casinos, strip clubs, cinemas, and exclusive membership stores/clubs like Sam's club. I would consider Mcdonalds a public store, even though it is private property they are allowing ANYONE to come in and get food. Due to that, they are required to keep certain safety/health standards which (IMO) makes them a public place.

How many times? There IS an LED that lights up when you're filming. I'm under the impression it blinks orange though.

Am I the only one to think it is an awful invention? Sure nice gadget but it is just something in extra that will keep you out of your physical reality. Plus, I don't want extra publicity being displayed. I have enough on my computer, television and smartphone. Nice invention but don't count me in to wear this thing 24/24. Might be fun while driving because driving is boring but then you will get distracted... no go.

Then don't buy it, obviously it's not for everyone.

Awful invention? I can even say that this is the future.

Lots (most?) of the people that buy this device are probably people who already have glasses, so they just wear it as normal glasses. The only people that would really have a problem with wearing this are people who aren't use to glasses. Almost everyone has to wear glasses by age 50 though, so might as well get use to it now. I'd much rather wear something on my head then have to carry around a cellphone.

Don't see how someone could think this is an awful invention. It does the majority of the things a cellphone does (and then much more) with no subscription costs, no need to carry something around, and virtually no risk of being dropped/broken. Also correct me if i'm wrong, you can even link it to your cell phone to get most/all of the other features of it.

I can see this device making cell phones obsolete in time.
