The greater facial tagging becomes the harder it will be to not see your face linked in the background somewhere with your hand up a girls skirt yessir.gif

there needs to be some sort of sensible regulation, not a ban as of yet that will come in time anyway when people spoil things as they usually do.

It's one thing to not be hired cuz of a bad feeling. It's quite another to be fired cuz you got filmed while drunk and practicing your worst impression of some foreign accent.

This regulation you speak of, should extend to the people who can ruin a person's livelihood by having a gut flinch while watching youtube (probably while at their desk at work).

I guess what I'm really trying to say is, there's worse problems with society than the erosion of privacy.

I don't know about there, but here every place you go to has "Right admission reserved" on the door. That pretty much gives them the right to ask you to leave if you contravene any of their rules. So, if they for example said "No Google Glass" then that would be that. If you used it you'd be out. Restaurants, bars, hotels, shopping malls etc all say this.

Time to lighten the mood in here I think.

I don't think it its so much filming patrons more so filming employees.
It protects mcdonalds but it also prevents employees from being harassed.
If someone films you while on private property, state law depending, you can file stalking charges, which can have jail time.
But ya, if you are on the sidewalk nothing you can do, walk away. The police can disperse but that's it.

I'm pretty sure they just don't want anyone posting videos of their cashiers making snarky comments.

It's bad for their image.

It's most likely a combination of both. Businesses want to protect themselves as much as the next guy.

Having been a restaurant manager for one of our biggest home grown chains here for 3 years, I kinda feel like it's pretty justified. You don't want random people taking video of your restaurant/staff/products/procedures etc.

Cell phone microphones don't just stop working if you're not making a phone call. If you're worried about being hacked and surveilled, clearly you should be worrying just as much about your cell phone.

its an infringement and the law needs to drag its lazy ass into the current century ! this is likewise technology used in a completely different context
In public places there is no expectation of privacy. You can be filmed/photographed without consent.

There are some oddities about audio, but video or pictures are not protected like that.

The law says otherwise. What you do have a right to is to not go to McDonald's if you don't like THEIR rule and contact your Congressmen if you don't like the LAW.

But not AUDIO RECORDING, even in public, without express CONSENT of the person being recorded. That includes on a public street, even by police, say on a down town street in Baltimore. Google Glass does video and audio.

Why not ban all the cell phones then too? I mean have you looked at youtube lately? There are millions of videos being recorded with smartphones all the time, everywhere and no body cares. All of a sudden its google glass and "HEY LETS BAN IT! OMG OUR PRIVACY IN 2013!"

Also is someone really just wanted to record something, there are perfectly accessible and legal tiny cams you can buy that can fit in real sunglasses and wont ever be noticed. Honestly this is just stupid.
