Dumb/Noob Question

Thread Starter
m setting up a new computer at the moment, I have some RAID-ing questions to ask.

Planning to use either a UD3H or UD5H

After spending a few hours reading all the post in this section of the forum... I'm still lost and puzzled.

Most of the threads i read, indicated that Marvell on-board ports = Poos.

What I had in mine was:

Boot Drive (SSD) + WD Blue (1TB) - Plugged into the on-board intel SATA ports. (No Raid) using this guide (http://www.overclock.net/t/1156654/seans-windows-7-install-optimization-guide-for-ssds-hdds)

For my storage drives, im planning to use 2x WD Greens 2TB and want them to be in RAID 0 setup.
Should I invest in a RAID Controller which has 6GB/s ports... to run the storage drives in a RAID 0 config or should i risk it and run the storage drives with the marvell ports?

set the Intel SATA mode to RAID and then set up the RAID array, however, I suggest not using WD Greens for RAID, they may fallout of the array some times.

Use the onboard intel controller.
