It wasn't in this thread then?

I get confused, I had made a statement somewhere else that they are all GK110s, but then they get cut down to the K20/X or the GK110 in the Titan. I wasn't aware that the K20 cards still called GK110s. That makes the other person I was arguing with even more incorrect actually, as he said the gpu in the titan is the K20X.

So my post here was wrong, and I was half wrong in the other thread - though I did state that they are all GK110s at the "base" level, IE; before they get cut down to their respective bins.

please read this article before keep calling me incorrect. lol. I even referred to this thread about you being incorrect the first time you posted it.

Who cares? Our ultimate goal as consumers is to buy it as cheap as possible, which means buying at cost.

We're not here to help them or "meet them somewhere in the middle".

Saying it should be $699 like Majin just did is nuts, it's crazy. It shouldn't be this price. It should be a lot cheaper than that. How does $249 sound for a GTX 780? That's a lot more reasonable for a piece of hardware that gets outdated the second you install it on your computer on launch day.

If there were 7 or 8 companies competing a Titan would be selling for $249-$299, not $999.

We don't need to give these greedy pricks any more reasons to charge high amounts, and a lot of you guys are doing this, even myself I believe.

I guarantee that Nvidia (and AMD) gets their employees to go over computer boards just like this one to guage the public's reaction and anticipation of this card. If there's a lot of guys claming they'll buy two if it's $599, and Nvidia was going to price is at say $499, then they'll definitely charge more.

If there was a "lower video card prices campaign" that includes boycotting, petitions, protests at launches, and social media (blogs, etc...), we could EASILY get them to reduce prices by almost half. I guarantee you that. But there are so many fricken nerds selling themselves out and going out and buying these thigns without thinking abut it that it ruins it for everybody.

Nvidia and AMD is listening to what we're saying, if they knew we wouldn't put up with high prices, they wouldn't charge as much.

While I agree with 90% of what you stated, having two competitors or ten won't make a big difference in pricing unless they sell enthusiastic cards by the millions.
Most of the R&D budget is funded from the Business cards, not the consumer cards.

But if they do sell the 780 for 499$, I would happily get 2.

Uhoh....

http://www.mightyape.co.nz/product/EVGA-GeForce-GTX770-Graphics-Card/21404057/
http://www.mightyape.co.nz/product/EVGA-GeForce-GTX780-Graphics-Card/21404060/

Both show GPU Boost 2.0 confirmation.

But this is the uhoh part... Found this too... http://www.shopblt.com/cgi-bin/shop/shop.cgi?action=thispage&thispage=011004001504_BRR3868P.shtml&order_id=!ORDERID! and http://www.shopblt.com/cgi-bin/shop/shop.cgi?action=thispage&thispage=011004001504_BRR3869P.shtml&order_id=!ORDERID!

One is normal clock, one is superclock, both claim a $719.12 USD price tag. For reference their GTX Titan SC is listed at ~$1055 http://www.shopblt.com/item/evga-06g-p4-2791-kr-geforce-gtx-titan-superclocked/u086_06gp42791kr.html . Hopefully it isn't really $649-699 MSRP frown.gif. Their products look to have a markup of around 5% typically. So at best I think if the price is for the SC on both, we are looking at 599-649. eek.gif
