One thing to think of though is this, back from before GTX 680's launch:

So, there is precedent for them having higher-than-MSRP pricing pre-launch by well over 10%. We may get lucky and see 600ish.

Very good point. No-one should read too much into pre-release pricing, it is *always* vastly inflated.

Personally, I think 550-600 should be the expected price. Let's get serious here: if its a 20% increase over the GTX 680, that doesn't warrant 700$. Period. I could name numerous prior generation upgrades such as the 280>480, 480>580, 580>680 in which each one brought a similar percentage increase for a similar cost. All of these generation increases brought 20-40% increases for the very same prices as their prior generation counterparts, so I just can't see past 600$ for the 780. 600$ is pushing it. I think 550$ would be about right perhaps.

Also keep in mind that the Titan has 6GB of VRAM, so the price of the 780 will not be half of the difference between the 680 and Titan - VRAM is a major cost contributor to the final MSRP of Titan.

The GTX280 was $650USD on release. The GTX 480 that represented a 20% increase in performance was, $499USD on release day.

That have to do with competition, 280's price dropped rapidly from $650 because 4870 released soon after it. 480 is priced that way because 5870 preceded it.
