It's not far fetched for the 770 to be $400, same as 670.

but people are under the impression new things should always cost more for being new. the 770 better be $350-$430 max. it's a 680 with a new name and should cost the same price as the card it's replacing in slot, the gtx670. seriously, the gtx670 stomped the gtx580 and was 5% below the gtx680. it didn't cost more than the 580 or the same as the 680 did it? why are so many people expecting to be price gouged and so accepting of it? maybe nvidia will surprise us. well, not all of us will be surprised at any rate. it's just a matter of who those are lol. I'm gonna call the series at $599 (780), $449 (770) and $349 (760ti) max. prices returning to the gtx280 era.

Agreed. That is why I have been shocked lately with some of the comments of people saying if the 780 comes in at less than $650-7 it will be a steal for the specs. I think Nvidia are very smart in releasing such an expensive card like the Titan. It was a ballsy business move and it appears to have worked, at least for its marketing magic. We are getting less % upgrades and for a higher price and people are calling it a deal. I have a feeling both sides will have inflated prices this round or at least by the next cycle.

I'd say we will have to get used to this as time goes though. It is getting harder and harder to squeeze the same % increases with each new revision and I'm sure it is costing them more in R&D and production. I understand a small increase each cycle for such things, but it looks like gouging/fixing is going on instead at this time. I hope I'm wrong and both keep their top end cards around the $500 mark though. I would love to be wrong.

With the whole Titan thing, I have seen some people practically beg in hope of a $650-700 top end card. As in the x80 series top end, not some random off shoot like Titan being $700. It is like they are trying to condition everyone into getting used to exorbitant pricing so when they drop the 780 at $650-700, people will think they are getting a steal. It seems to be working on quite a few too.

I fear what pricing is going to be like on both sides cards this round.

If this is going to be the trend going forward, I'll dismantle my PC and sell all my monitors and then I'll buy me a PS4 and a 3D projector and play on a 120" screen.

GTX 770 will be $399
GTX 780 will be $499

Trust me on this. People always think it will be overpriced, but Nvidia has changed.

The GPU would make use of the cooler from GeForce Titan which would allow for better thermal specs providing users more overclocking headroom. The pricing is suggested around the $599, while overclocked models which would also be available at launch are going to cost slightly more. You can check out the be benchmarks for GeForce GTX 780 GPU here. Latest reports point out that the custom models won’t be available at launch but rather be released a bit late for an extra cost.

The funny thing is there is leaks showing 500 to 800 but no word from nvidia and people here are taking the leak that shows their preferred price and sticking to it!

I'm hoping for 500.... Thinking it will be 550 .... Fearing 600

500 ill get a nvidia tattoo

550 ill whine but buy one

600+ bye bye PC gaming
