[VC] NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 Pictured Up Close (Gallery) - Page 50

If it is going for 700$ they would label it TITAN LE
post #492 of 1081
When are you going to get it through your head that precedent doesn't mean anything? Market factors have changed since all of those cards launched and Nvidia knows with AMD out of the picture that this is their big chance to pump up profits. Whatever though, if you want to continue to be naive and wish that the 780 will be $500 then more power to ya! You're only setting yourself up for a bitter disappointment in two days....

You are better of selling 100K @ 500
Than selling 10K @ 700/800
Especially with them rebranding the GK110 intro GTX780 as they already have their production costs covered

Lol, they'll sell just as many 780's whether the price is $500 or $700 and they know it. That's why its not going to be $500....

Like I said, if it were 550-600 I'd buy two instantly, I didn't think it would be the case. Too big of a performance gap for a minimal price difference between 770-780!

Distributor, not retailer.

The distributor has the retail price listed at 699, whether this is a placeholder or not I cannot say, only reporting what I saw on the distributor's reseller login.

It is possible that other retailers with their own distribution will have a lower price (Amazon, newegg, etc.) and that price may be adjusted based on stock levels.

Edit: The distributor had it listed for ~640 for my company. Distributor prices and retail are two different things.

700 dollar is 700+ euro here and that is a absolute deal breaker.
Then it would be better to wait it out.

For you maybe, but they will sell out whether you buy one or not. Guaranteed...

Yeah, they will.

Don't know how I feel about getting one at that price though, because I didn't want to spend much more than 600-650 for them. I am committed to getting at least one because I sold my 680 off. I'd buy two though if given the opportunity for a reasonable price.
