Yet again lest people forget, the Titan is a "collector's edition/special edition" card as stated by nVidia themselves and priced per its compute ability. It is not a "new standard" for gaming cards.

What do cards retail for $ wise compared to euros? What was the 680 in euros at launch? 499?

GTX 680 is expected to sell for around $499, with some resellers listing them in Europe for pre-order at under 500 Euro.

That was March 22nd, 2012.

Here is an article talking about pre-order pricing for it in Europe:
http://www.cpu-world.com/news_2012/2012031701_NVidia_GTX_680_Available_For_Pre-Order_In_Europe.html

426.20 euro pre-tax, 507.18 taxed on Comcom.nl, and maxict.nl listed it for 508.50 euro taxed. Launch in US was 499 dollars.

dude, $599.00 euro equals to $772.00 USD

the 780 is not going to be sold for 499.99 (you need to get that number out of your head)

$599.99 sounds doable but IMHO the base price at launch for a 780 is going to be around $650/700 at the least..

I am not really sure how you managed to get the amount you did for your 480's, but whoever purchased them, surely never saw the newegg deals when the 600 series launched, 480's new from EVGA were as low as $180 at one point.

They were 150 here in the UK.

You did not do too bad, but for the majority, it is as i explained.

Well I sold them last year around August I think, so they were definitely worth more. They were also only a few months old as I had bought them from newegg for the fantastic deal of only 200 each. When I sold them the newegg deal had been done for for a couple months, so asking 160 each for barely used cards was not too hard to do.

You haven't been around for many video card launches, clearly. The numbers are not converted in pricing for pre-orders ever, basically.

As I said above....

Point is he's already spent his cash, I'm not suggesting there aren't other alternatives if you've got cash in your pocket.

Also - I'm sure he previously posted that he had two. 670s aren't going to top that

Currency exchange rates havent affected Previous launch prices according to history, thus why he believes in the lower price. It's logical.

And once you knock off the VAT, you are right back to $599.  It's pretty well established that stuff sells in Europe for the same number as the US, just with a different currency symbol in front.
