Will it work with the koolance titan block specifically? Hope it isn't too much to ask just want to be 100% sure thumb.gif

redcoon is not a trustworthy site. The one I listed is the #1 e-tailer in Spain, by revenue (and by a huuuge difference).

Still, if you price the GTX780 at 600€, do you know how many Titan's will you sell? Yes, you will sell 0. None. At the same time, if the GTX770 is 500€, do you know how many of them you will sell? Yes, again, none.

It's kinda normal in the VGA industry to bring up-to-date models that crush the older ones... but it isn't when they are based on, basically, the same chip. NVIDIA ain't going to kill Titan sells, not at all, they will simply release a dumped-down, 3GB version... but not at around $500 nor $600, as such price makes absolutely no sense. The only chance to sell the GTX780 and not crush the Titan's nor the GTX770 is to price it at around $700.

Just look at it this way: if they have XYZ revenue from a GTX680, and now they make it a GTX770, why would they accept less money when the card basically costs the same to them?

IMO, GTX770 will go for $499. GTX760 Ti (or whatever its called), for $399. GTX 780, $699 and, Titan, will stay put at $999.

Yes, 799... GBP, not Euro. And 800 GBP are around 960€. Would you pay 200€ extra for double the ram and like 10% extra performance? Because I wouldn't.

I would. Still, the price might be a tad high (they normally price-gouge their prices at release dates, specially when the competition hasn't set their prices yet), but I wouldn't expect less than 700€.

Therefor this will also have a 500 dollar price tag.
Nobody is going to buy it for 775 euro so why even post that pic.

Nobody cares about your opinion so why even post that comment? See what I did there? Try to be a bit more respectful.

Besides, $500 for a GTX780? Quit smoking. GTX680 is, at the moment, above $450, and if they sell the GTX780 at $500, they will make less money off of it, as well as insulting everybody that bought their Titan's.

So, no, at $500 you will probably get a GTX770 (GK104), not a 780.

680 was 500$, 670 400$, so it was 100$ difference for like what, 5-10% more performance? Same RAM size!

780 will be like 20-30% faster so it will cost a premium over 770 (which is just a fail with it's castrated 256-bit bus, like the whole 6xx series). It has wider bus, better computing, more VRAM. That's the only thing I am sure about. At least 200$ more than 770. 570 was 150$ cheaper than 580, so even 250$ for 780 over 770 wouldn't surprise me. That and we have the Titan now which is just a rip off, so it will influence 780's price too. And no competition from AMD for 780.

I'm starting to really hate Nvidia.

Where do you guys get these numbers from? The 780 is roughly 20% (give or take) faster than the 680, the 770 is roughly 10% faster than the 680.... That puts it about 10% slower than the 780.... Oh my, that's about right in how they stagger their chips.

If the 780 was 30% faster than the 680, while still being "30% slower than the titan" the titan would be like 60% faster than the 680. On average, the titan is about 50%. Thus aptly putting the 780 right where they said it would, 30% lower. The 770 is ~10% below that, the 680 ~10% below that.

Oh my, does that mean the 780 is going to have to be a decent price drop? I could see a maybe on $600 price, $700 is too even a cut to displace the titan as an enthusiast card. It's too even on price/performance. Not to mention, it doesn't quite compete blow to blow with dual cards on some games. Suggesting that it isn't quite a 50% boost as SLI isn't quite a 100% increase in performance.

Needless to say, you guys are terrible at maffs.

[edit] Oh and quit saying the GTX680 is above 450, it's 430 base price at best. The 4GB is a later revision, in which you might see a 4-5GB revision of the 780 come out LATER. As that's how things tend to go. I could see the 770 at 500 if they don't induce price drops, which I suspect they will.

770 is the same as 680 just with higher clocks. Who said 30%? Quote correctly at least. 20-30% better performance, not 30% (but clock-for-clock if will be 30%). We can't know for sure. 770 with it's castrated memory bus will drop behind even more with AA enabled, just like with 6xx series.

Dunno who said that 780 will be 30% slower than the Titan, but it's not true. ~15% less stream processors and other stuff, same bus width, I expect <15% difference in performance clock-for-clock

Titan isn't just a gaming card though, it's a business/compute solution. I don't know if it's valid to really use it as a price reference for the 780 based on gaming performance. I felt the same way you do, but after discussing about it in this thread, there hasn't been a GTX #80 launch that has been over $499 since the GTX 280 and that was quickly knocked down to $499 after the first week.

If the 780 retails at $700 it's going to be a real trend changer and not for the good. It would be really bad because that means standard video card prices are getting inflated.

A Maxwell 880 will be at least slightly if not noticeably faster than a $1000 Titan so let's charge $1200 for that.

What about a dual-gpu 890? $2400 sound good?

The 980 will be faster than a 880, how much does $1500 sound? $3000 for a 990?

After all, each card is faster and will have more RAM, right? Right guys? It's logical and common sense after all, right?????? And anyone who complains is too poor to afford one too, right????????

lowered the price of the GTX 260 and GTX 280 because the competition has launched the 4800 that were a little 'less performance and with much lower prices.
This time the competition is lacking, missing 8970 and 8950
