Hi there, just was thinking about this, google a bit and it was like a war, so I need more consistent opinions

What do you think is need to max a game like BTF3 or Crysis 3 ( Disabled AA if necesary)

2Gb?

3Gb?

4Gb?

6Gb?

Im talking about the 500$ price range (680, 7970)

2GB should be pretty good especially with disabled AA. Only game i had that pushed the 2GB was skyrim with mods (i had 6970s that time). 3GB like with 7970s is a lot safer though and gives you good headroom.

Well, considering your budget, I think you can just leave out the 4/6gb options. If all you have is 500 bones to spend on graphics cards, I think your best bet is going to be team red.

I also have 3x 1080p screens and I'm running 2X 580s in SLI and with pretty much all the eye candy disabled i'm still running into the 1.5Gb limit that my cards have in those games, I'll be waiting for 780s with more than stock memory since my fps are too low for my taste.

I'd recommend to wait a couple of weeks and see if there are cards with more than 3Gb, especially if the 770 is rumored to have 4Gbs and be 5-10% faster than a 680 with the same amount of memory.

Should I wait for a GTX780 4Gb or get now a 7970 3Gb?

Well if your max budget is around the $500 range, I'm pretty sure that the 780 gtx with more than stock memory will be more than that by maybe a hundred or two. But the 770 with 4Gb should be out from day one if the rumors are correct, and it should be closer to your budget or a little cheaper, it should also be on par or outperform the 7970 by 5-10% if the rumors are correct.

it is not all gpu. i suggest a 7970 and oc it as much as you can, so make sure to get one with a great cooler and with voltage unlocked. the other option i will suggest is to sli this . . .

the money saved can go to a 8300 vishera paired with a good cooler.

My actual CPU is fine, I´ll wait to Steamroller to come an "ROLL" over the other CPUs, my actual CPU cooler is fine, 9º idle, 40º max

Also, I just don´t like SLI or Crossfire

+1 for the 770. If its supposed to have 4GBs of memory then why upgrade to old hardware? Its going to be faster then a 7970 and bout the same price if they don't lower it again.

It's a rebadged 680 isn't it? Being named a 770 doesn't make it able to capitalize on the 4gb any better.

On topic, 3gb or higher is good for triple screens.
