overclock i5 750 arround 4ghz: cooler?

Hi there

i'm planning to overclock my cpu to reach 3,8 / 4 Ghz, so i really need a new cooler.

I'm actually struggling between few models :

1) NOCTUA - nh-u12p se2

2) ZALMAN CNPS 9900 MAX

3) COOLERMASTER - Hyper 412S

Actually my budget is arround 60 euros ( i guess is like 80 dollars ), so any suggestion on those models or others ?

PS: i use Corsair Dominator DDR3 ram, so they're high profile. I noticed that the noctua actually allows you to move the fan near to the ram upwards, so you actually have space for the ram. THe Zalman one is smaller, so this problem doesn't arise. Regarding the cooler master...well i dunno about that

thanks for any help! thumb.gif

Hello,

I think I would want to know which one could keep my cpu colder, for longer..Is it possible for you to use a closed water looped system instead of something bulky? If I had to pick from one of those I'd prob. go with the NOCTURA. Good reviews and all. But these types of coolers are a pain in the ass if ya want more ram or need mess with anything.

You could pull it off with a 212+ if you wanted to save a few bucks, that u12p will be great though.

I'm running my mine @ 4GHz on a U9B-SE2 just fine.

he wrote euros.

I'd go with the Noctua U12 if you want quiet, but the Zalman 9900 MAX is close to NH-D14 performance but is stupid loud (and you can't change the fans)

I had a 212+ on my 760 and could get to 3.8ghz max, so I bought a U12P and was able to get to 4ghz. I would recommend you get the U12P.

Newegg is not a European site, you'd have to pay customs/international shipping. OP needs to post where they'd be buying from or where they are (germany/France/Italy/Spain/Belgium/FinlandIreland/Netherlands/Portugal/etc)

You cannot simply convert prices to euros and call it a day.
