Howdy!

So, one of these months I want to swap out my antec's fan for some noctua units... but I haven't really looked into how I can swap them into the front bays. I suppose it will leave a gap in the filter if I pull out the pot that controls the speed of the front fans... Or can I get away with just leaving that small assembly in place, and simply put new fans in? I figured I would do that, or would I be able to connect the new fans to the old speed controls and keep them functional?

It has been a long time since I had one of those bays apart, I can't recall if the speed control is a part of the actual fan, or if it a part of the bay unit.

I assume for the back two fans, I am simply stuck bypassing the built in speed control switches however?

I would take it all apart and find out for myself right now, except I have a shattered left wrist and this is very much not a one handed case.
