Question about the Amd 8760 graphics card

hi there,

can anyone help please.

my brother in law just bought this pc from littlewoods http://www.littlewoods.com/hp-h9-1430ea-intelreg-coretrade-i7-processor-6gb-ram-2tb-hard-drive-with-16gb-ssd-24-inch-desktop-pc-with-dedicated-graphics/1206836045.prd?browseToken=%2fb%2f4294957934%2c4877

in the description it says it comes with a amd 7770 graphics card but when we set it up we found it was a amd 8760. we have been trying to find the drivers for this card on the amd drivers site but it is not there?

i read somewhere that the 8760 is really a 7770 card, is this true? and if so does that mean we can install the drivers for the 7000 series cards?

at the moment i have installed the drivers that are on the hp web site for the card but the ccc looks old and different to the new ccc and drivers that are out now. this driver i installed came out this month as well.

i have a asus 7970 so i know what the real amd ccc should look like.

any help please?

Radeon HD 8760 (OEM) is an OEM only, fast-middle-class GPU based on the GCN architecture.
It offers 640 Shader Processing Units on a 128-bit interface of fast GDDR5. The central unit is clocked at 1000MHz. It offers 16 ROPs and 40 TMUs. It should draw up to 80 Watts.
It's, therefore, a renamed Radeon HD 7770 and should perform exactly like it.

About the drivers just download the latest from AMD site

Edit:
I think this should work, don't know if they more updated than what you have installed

My 7570 is like that, only the OEM driver pack will work with it.

You could try to flash it to a 7770 BIOS that has the same card specs/bus/clocks/core, but make sure you have a recovery plan before trying since there's a reasonable chance of temporarily bricking the card until you can flash the original BIOS back on it from another system.

You know there are no even numbered cards.

7850 7970 7950 7770 etc....

8760 is the wrong card name.

should he just keep using the drivers from the hp web site? they don`t have any profiles on there tho, can he use the amd profiles from the amd website?

Yes just download and install the generic CCC and profiles and you should be fine.

There are even-numbered OEM-only cards, and the OEM rebadges are currently up to the 8000s due to marketing considerations. See HERE for details about this card, and HERE for a list of all OEM 8000-line cards.

As for why drivers for this particular model are hard to find, TPU's database entry states that its first validation was today, so it's probably a very new card. Perhaps proper driver support will be included in the next beta.
