Cheers, buddy! definitely looks to be the winner me thinks. I'll check it out a bit more when I get out of work. Thinking a might just go with it today. The Ministry of Finances has given the green light. tongue.gif

I'm going to sleep on it tonight, but will more than likely order it tomorrow, It'll arrive the next day and I'll post my impressions.

My only concern is if games will run well enough to my liking at that resolution. Or else this might be a hefty venture and require another 680. tongue.gif

I'm a perfectionist.

AFAIK the 680 you have has 2GB of memory, so you could struggle with some of the more demanding games with texture packs.

The only game the 680 won't run at 1440p is Crysis 3 or Heavily modded Skyrim or Crysis 1.

I've heard some people were less than pleased with the Asus because it flickers from PWM lighting. If CRT's gave you headaches steer clear of this.

I hear that is only a problem at low brightness?

I do own a Samsung SyncMaster S24A850DW 24IN LED PLS (1920x1200) As soon as I got it and turned it on for the first time -- long story short I was pretty mindblown with the quality and beauty. Viewing angles are superb too!

Samsung does have a 27" 2560X1440 edition (Samsung SyncMaster LS27A850DS) so if don't have a budget restriction, I highly recommend that!

Whelp, I bought the Asus and it is gorgeous. Pretty impressed with how little the performance hit has been in games like Metro Last Light, ect.

Compared to my 27" IPS Samsung, the black levels and colour reproduction are fantastic and viewing angles are great. I don't get that washed out look. Not sure if that is from being just a better quality display, or the fact it's a PLS panel.

Either way I love it!!
