So my PC just randomly rebooted itself.

I was just doing light stuff, internet browsing and I was on steam chat. Then it just randomly rebooted itself. What could be the issue? My specs are in my signature, no overclock. Could it be the power supply? I switched it from normal to hybrid mode. I'm on Windows 8 also and my temperatures are fine. Yeah this is the first time its happened, I'm not sure if it will be a recurring issue.

Also, my PC didn't exactly say "Windows is Restarting" or anything like that. It was abrupt, the PC just shut itself off with no warning at all when I was typing a message to someone through Steam chat and then it turned itself back on.

Sometimes browsers get all locked up with java problems. It could be as simple as that.

Could have just been a small brownout type of deal with your power. Has happened with me before. If my pc can't pull enough electricity from the wall it reboots.

You can check your voltages with hwmonitor

If it does it again you sould use hwmonitor and see if any of them seems wrong

Or said it could be a Java F up

I think I've gotten those lockups like you mentioend before, but those usually resolved themselves in like a second or two, it didn't do anything like an abrupt reboot. Is there any way I can check if there were any error messages logged by Google?

I'm checking my voltages, the highest it goes is about 1.424 v but that's what it usually does when my voltages are set to the motherboard defaults because it sets the voltages to auto. I'm running a full virus scan right now also.

Well, hopefully its just one incident. Is htere anyway to check if Windows 8 logs any error messages because of the reboot?

Okay, I ran a full virus scan, sfc /scannow, and windows memory diagnostic, all of them turned up clean. So I'm not sure what caused it, maybe it was the power supply?
