2500$ christmas gift gaming! - Page 6

Well there are thousands, and the r&j tech contains many brands all by itself Asus Acer etc. It seems like every electronics organization with a pulse has brought out its own line of laptops a few notables other than those discussed are Lenovo (IBM), Sony, and HP. None of which I recommend, but I am sure there is somebody here on the forum that swears by them, and I am sure they are decent machiens.

Lenovo (IBM) does not skip on any part. They carry the finest memory chips, processors, harddrives, power sources, ect. You don't see any Lenovo batteries being recalled. The customer support is amazing. My dad's shipped out his T60p to have the screen replaced around 5PM Friday. It was delivered, fixed Monday morning at 8AM.

I hadn't heard much about them, so I couldn't really endorse them, but if that is the case they might have to go to the top of my list when I buy my next laptop.

Yes, the lenovo by IBM are Very high quality stuff. Actually, alot of the things made by IBM are VERY high quality, but expensive.

And do they still have the dumb red dot in the middle of the keyboard, I seem to remember that, never much liked it.

One gig of RAM, slower processor and a vid card he doesn't even really need. Why does it "pwn" for him again?

1) 1 gig of RAM isn't bad. it's actually a much better value that the small performance gain you get with 2 GB
2) A slow processor? that's a core 2 duo! True, it's only 1.66Ghz, but it'll still probably preform better than a 2.4 P4
3) a video card he doesn't need? I thought he was using this for gaming. that video card will help a lot.

sager is a good brand. They use Clevos like alienware does
