removing IDE driver didn't work, and I cannot find where to enable USB's in BIOS

Do you have one of the DFI read PCI slot USB connectors? If so compare the wire color/locations and compare them to the front port USB. I've seen case USB that had different pinout locations.
In other words, the moldex/wires layout from the case USB connectors may not match the MB.
