AMD APU Hybrid Crossfire

Thread Starter
I was wondering what the advantages of a hybrid crossfire with a Radeon 7870. The processors are Cheap and run pretty well as I hear. Please respond with some help with the choice of cpu and explaining if I can crossfire with an XFX radeon 7870.
Thank you.

The max you can go with hybrid CFX with any APU is an HD 6670 (Not completely sure but nothing higher than the 6600series). Going with an HD7870 would disable the integrated IGPU and would run games of the dedicated Graphics. As far as the benefits are concerned, its much more affordable to play current games at decent settings or play them in a constricted enviornment (HTPC)

Would the Crossfire with a 6670 be better than a 7870. and doesnt the 6670 clock less than the 7870?

nope even if you were to pair the apu with the 6670, they would still lag behind a single 7870.

Maybe you can crossfire with the HD-7750 (maybe 7770 also). There are alot of people talking like they are crossfiring their Trinity APUs with 7000 series. Google and Youtube. wink.gif

If your not using the iGPU you might as well get an AM3(+) system. Anyway, A10 unlocked.
