Why not just wait until Crysis comes out? DX10 will be cheaper, and you will know EXACTLY what is needed to run it on max. You will most likely save some money that way, and put that money to something useful, besides computers.

What's the usual time period it takes for a $600 card to go down to the $300ish-$400ish? And same with a processor that costs $1600ish (QX6700)? *drools*.

@Kamakazi
Well the thing is I've waited so much last year. I was so tempted to get a new graphics card but resisted the temptation.

Heres the requirements of Crysis. But I never really trust the recommended requirements. Mainly because of the things I heard about Oblivion bringing down every GPU to their knees despite meeting the recommended requirements.

Minimum Requirements

CPU: Athlon 64 3000+/Intel 2.8ghz
Graphics: Nvidia 6600/X800GTO (SM 2.0)
RAM: 768Mb/1Gb on Windows Vista
HDD: 6GB
Internet: 256k+
Optical Drive: DVD
Software: DX9.0c with Windows XP

Recommended Requirements

CPU: Dual-core CPU (Athlon X2/Pentium D)
Graphics: Nvidia 7800GTX/ATI X1800XT (SM 3.0) or DX10 equivalent
RAM: 1.5Gb
HDD: 6GB
Internet: 512k+ (128k+ upstream)
Optical Drive: DVD
Software: DX10 with Windows Vista

I don't think the card will go down (the 7900GTX is still around $500) but they will come out with newer cards, like for example a 8800GT or something like that.

7900GTX is about $400, sometimes a little less, and the QX6700 is only about $1200.

But it is safe to say that they (tech products) depreciate very little, I bought my 7900GTX in May for $500, so in about 8 months it has went down $100, that is chump change compared to what other things depreciate at.

Where do they sell the QX6700 for $1200? On Newegg it's $1599. =/
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819115011

The lowest I could find is $1500.
