best motherboard for 3570k at 4.5ghz and two gtx 670's

so im building a gaming pc and was going withe the 3570k at start then went to 3770k until i realised i wont be rendering and stuff like that too much so im going the with 3570k agian. im wondering what's the best motherboard for overclocking a 3570k to 4.5ghz and running two gtx 670's at x16 each so instead of two slots at x8 its both slots at x16. i have a nzxt tempest 210. i was thinking a asus republic of gamers board but couldnt find a standard atx one. i know there is one i just couldnt find it.

Two x8 lanes provided natively from the CPU are going to be about the same or faster than x16/x16 with a PLX chip or NF200 because of the added latency. Anyway if you want the ROG board it's the ASUS Maximus V FORMULA or ASUS Maximus V EXTREME. They both run at x8/x8 and are IMO overpriced. I would personally get the MSI Z77A-GD65 Gaming for the features and price point.

isnt there a board that runs both slots at x16 natively? because my uncle told me x8 is abot 30% slower than x16 and if i get 2 cards that like 60% slower which is almost 1 card. that would be a waste of money. i could have swore that one of the rog boards were native x16 on both slots.

No, because the PCI-E lanes are integrated into the processor. You would have to go to a socket 2011 based processor to get dual x16/x16 lanes. All 1155 chips have this limitation. x8/x8 GTX 670 SLI on PCI-E 3 is not going to bottleneck and going to be faster anyway like I said than with an addon chip.

I ran two 580 Lightnings (with decent OCs) at PCI-E 2.0 x8/x8 and got great performance. 670 is about the same speed, maybe a little better though and a PCI-E 3.0 x8 lane is about equivalent to a PCI-E 2.0 x16 lane roughly. With this in mind you can be assured you will have great performance. So don't worry about it. Do check out that MSI board though, it's better in features and way more competitively priced.

No reason why it shouldnt be, most good boards are going to run those 2 cards the same.

that board will be fine, its a decent board for overclocking your CPU. even at x8 x8 two 670's in sli will run just fine.

2 cards can have issues, if you have never dealt with it before. Depending on the resolution you are going to run, a single high end card can run anything, without the possible issues with SLI or Crossfire.
