The processor can still fetch a few dollars. So can the ram and motherboard, but not much. You can keep the case and PSU to save some money.

Both build parts suggested by AndyM95 are pretty good. There are some 7950s on the OCN marketplace as people are trying to sell to upgrade to the upcoming gtx 700 series. You can look at comparable systems for sale there too. thumb.gif

I love the RAM - Great price and seems very nice.

Yup three displays daily use as well as gaming here and there. How would that card work with three monitors exactly? It's my first time using three currently I have two.
AMD FX-8350 - $179.99.

Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 - $127.99 after MIR.

This is a nice combo, very decent board to pair with a FX-8350 thumb.gif

Do you have a suggestion for a cheaper graphics card?

look for a 7870 XT Tahiti LE card which is a light version of the tahiti GPU used in the 7900 series cards. or just a plain old 7870 GHz ed

Both are AM3+, yes.

Some cheaper GPU options:

Sapphire Radeon HD 7870 XT 2GB - $244.99 after MIR.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202024&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=

MSI Radeon HD 7850 Twin Frozr III 2GB OC - $179.99 after MIR.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127663&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=

The 77xx cards aren't really worth looking at, especially as you want to game on 3 monitors. My choice would be the 7870 XT, it's based on the Tahiti LE architecture and is great value for money.

Umm..... Check my site and the rig called my mrs candu crush fb-machine XD.
Makin it for my mrs but its bit too powerfull to her needs (asus nexus 7" has done the job so far so...)

For AMD rig I'll say.......

1. Get Vishera.. It aint a lot more expensive than FX 6xxx series or 8150 (is there a 15€ difference or smt)

2 For mobo : 1. Sabertooth 3gen (only lacking raid 0+1 option atm so got at raid 0 ...will figure it out as rev 2 gave u an option to do raid 0+1.
2. Formula V , 3. Msi Evo 4. Asrock fatal1ty (some-where in between Sabertooth gen2 ...( I would prefer saber 2gen over asrock or msi). Saber3gen + V formula are too interesting in their own way...

Plenty of very good RAM's..dont go crazy on those... Get ones that are good to oc. Gskill,corsair... (Rich man ? Get 32Gb of Dominator Platinum thumb.gif ) ..would suggest 2 x 4 or 8Gb.. 2 x 8Gb so you wont hit your head in the wall after 1 year (o'why I didnt buy more memory at the time....)

Case : Aerocool is cheap an easily configured + it has room.

Gpu : 1 x R7970 ghz edition + club3d active mini-displayport for your eyefinity
thumb.gif

PSU : Eyefinty, triple monitor and ghz edition gpu. U need to upgrade from 550w to 750w gold edition (xfx pro-series is quite cheap atm. Smt very good..Get Antec 1200i digital. biggrin.gif

For eyefinity playing n gettin some real powa out thats wut I recomend. So theres my 2 cents.

Imo. Get cpu cooler like kuhler 620 ..its like 40€'s. (no maintenance).. u will like it when u wanna push some more from FX processor. biggrin.gif
post #17 of 33
Forgat...If u can find...Get 2 x 6870 xxx editions from XFX. They r beasts in CFX. + the price is great for CFX compered the 7xxx series. Just make sure they are the xxx editions and NOT all-most the same ...xfx 6870 DD edition..U want the xxx dd editions. Theres a rigpic in my misc album from my "old" comp were I had 2 x of 6870 xxx's in CFX.

Loved those gpu's. thumb.gif
Cheap..had made one and ITS a beast!!! thumb.gifthumb.gifthumb.gif

Mobo : Evo msi
Memory 120Gb ssd (hyperX)
Ram : 2 x 8Gb hyperX again smile.gif
psu: xfx 550w gold
gpu: xfx 7770 (eyefinity rdy ..has 2 x dvi ports for starters)
Case : goes in midi. No need for mATX case. i.e Stromtrooper/chaser..wich eva was the under 70€
cpu: FX 6200 (you can unlock 2 cores n get 8-cores..fx-6400 cant unlock 2 more cores but goes very easily to stable 4.2 with a boost to 4.4 OR 8150/8350 (still I recomend Vishera (8350) as AMD processors are quite cheap.

My 2. two cents and imo for a cheaper. This would cost bout 800€ / my other option goes to 1200€-1500€ (havent calculated that yet)

imo. Check what you can do to your old comp with mayby usin 100€'s for it and selling the hole thing?
Use the money for good parts. i.e monitors, ssd (the price wont fall so fast as they do in mobos, cpu's,ram's,gpu's
Also a very good psu rly dosent drop in price a lot in the next year.
HAD to XFX 7770 is a beast and its pretty too.
3xmonitor + ultara setting and still running terraria and minecraft servers. thumb.gif

Not mine but I made it. If you want I got some oc pics bout it + the parts I used. Exact ones. Price isunder 900€'s and u will run all games ultra (offc. u need in latest aaa-games take antialiaising off of swap it to 2x ....7770 rly dosent like 8x antialiaising but other than that the freekin card blow my mind when I put it up. Mobo was evo ..well th last list I made..

the xfx 7770 took somekinda weird-good boost when I clocked cpu.

7770 got nearly same results from 3d11 than 7970 ghz edition did. So its a good card. Just the from the latest patch. Also xfx's 7770 had first some heat issues but also they are solved now.

Sincerely:
>>>Druizza<<< (sorry...wasent my intention to "spam" ..just thought those things after I pushed enter XD tongue.gif

And I'm currently lacking a graphics card still do you have any suggestions that can help me with an ati card? I was told to get a reference card by a friend.
