Corsair is fine if you have no other option or you can get them dirt cheap otherwise most of the time you got better options

Dont like the AX860 as it has problems with coil wine
Fair enough smile.gif

Most of the time there are better alternatives than SeaSonic/Corsair because they tend to overprice stuff a bit. When they go on sale they are great options though.

Thing is, I'm actually stuck with the AX860. In the netherlands we do not have the availability of the Rosewill PSU's. I also want to order everything in a big bulk at my local retailer so I can negotiate about a nice discount. They also don't sell anything above the AX860.

About the memory, the retailer just got in the 64gb pack of the Corsair Dominator Platinum 2133mhz which costs €789 while the 64gb Corsair Vengeance 1600mhz costs €464. (Damn prices went up.. was €320 a few months ago.) Would the almost €320 money increase be worth it? They only have these two 64gb packs.
No other options at all? Shilka can probably help you out more than I can because he lives in Denmark so knows what's available in that area.

Do you really need 64GB of memory haha? Anyway, just get the Vengeance. The Dominator Platinum stuff is WAY overpriced.

If you want a power supply similar to the AX860 (850W-ish and platinum rated) then take a look at the Kingwin Lazer Platinum 850W - $159.99 after MIR.

Didn't notice this one at first but it's got $50 off if you include the MIR. Just as good as the AX860 but much cheaper and doesn't have the coil whine issues.
This would be my choice, that price is amazing.
smile.gif

I know you included many more 850w+ options as well, but I still want to say that I wouldn't go with a 750w with his proposed rig.

Also I have to be a jerk and say "Wow yea that LZP-850 is a good price..... that's almost as cheap as I paid for my LZP-1000 more than a year ago." biggrin.gif I'm sorry. tongue.gif

750W is the bare minimum but you can get away with it as long as the power supply is high quality, 850W is recommend though, I agree with that.

Hehe alright, will go with the vengeance then.

Btw, about the AX860 coil whine issue, is it true that the AX860i doesn't have this problem? If so, I can go for that one instead and it will cost me only €19 more.. so if the AX860i doesn't have that problem, I don't mind paying €19 extra.
Regarding the RAM, I wouldn't pay an extra €300 for the speed difference. I don't know what the market is like in your part of the world but damn those numbers seem high to me, I don't know if it would be cheaper to look for some stuff online but I would at least look, to see if this local retailer of yours has crazy high prices or something, because yea ouch.

They both have the problem and the i model is a waste of money its the Corsair link software which is a gimmick that you pay for

You can return the unit if the coil whine is too loud

Alright then, the AX860 it is then.. if the coil whine is indeed too loud, I'll slap it on the retailers desk and demand a new one biggrin.gif

But thanks a lot everyone! Didn't expect to get so much help in such a small amount of time! I can't wait to build this rig.

Also to Shilka: the retailer I'm ordered at only has OCZ, Cooler Master, Antec and Corsair.

But I can get hands on a Seasonic, Enermax, Fractal Design and NZXT. The thing is though, I dig those black braided cables of the Corsair so much. Not to mention the whole black/red theme that my rig is gonna have, the AX860 matches that perfectly. And it also being fully modulair.
