Done.

Try adding -sX to the scan to see if that says differnt, if you know its open (can connect on local host) then its a firewall issue

When you say locally - do you mean PC directly connected to router or do you mean on same network and router connected to LAN.

Even port 80 is unknown

PORT STATE SERVICE

80/tcp unknown http

Sorry but can you dumb it down a bit for me.

I have at the moment.

Wall socket >>>>> ADSL 2+ cable >>>>>>> Modem (BT Openreach) >>>>>>>> Cat5 cable >>>>> TP-LInk WR1043ND >>>>>>> PC I am trying to get server running on.

What do you mean by 'Can you connect to it on localhost (127.0.0.1)'

Sorry

The pc you are tying to get the server running on, the one right at the end tongue.gif!

try connecting to the server using localhost

so if its a webserver open a browsr and goto 127.0.0.1, left for dead server use left 4 dead to connect to 127.0.0.1
