Thanks!! smile.gif

This is a photo of the motherboard, with good resolution: http://www.ixbt.com/mainboard/asus/crosshair-iv/board.jpg

It is compatible smile.gif

Any power supply with a 24-pin motherboard power connector and a 4-pin CPU power connector will work.

I'm 99% sure you can plug a 4-pin into the 8-pin connector on your motherboard and it will still work. Just don't expect any crazy overclocks.

Aaa ok, thanks!!

Ahh, the extra 4pin ATX cable, it's like two wires 4-pin CPU, right?

On the Asus website it states that the motherboard has an 8-pin CPU power connector yet in the picture it seems to have a 4-pin, can you confirm which it has? Thanks. I'm sure it must be an 8-pin on an extreme board like that.

ASUS website must be mistaken, because I'm seeing different pictures of the motherboard, and I only see 4pin CPU ...not 8pin.

Right now I have not the motherboard, is shipping smile.gif

Andy, look: in "Extreme" version of Crosshair IV (Crosshair IV Extreme, not Formula), have 8pin:

The Formula also has an 8-pin:

Hmmm, when does the board arrive? We could just wait until then.

Let's see, but, just look at pictures of Formula motherboard, and see that only has 4 pins ... ASUS official website is wrong.

Look: only 4 pin:

It looks like you can use an 8-pin but it's optional as half of it is covered up smile.gif

This is a small negative, the 8-pin header is almost pushed into the heat sink, it's that close. we actually had to push in the 8-pin PSU power header really hard using a little force. It's not a big issue, but a little more clearance would have been nicer alright.

Aaah, right, I did not harm it.

So, you think I need to connect 8 pin? Is that my PSU has 4 pin only...

But yet my PSU is modular, and allows to connect two cables PCI-E to two GPU's, and these cables are 8 pin ... and also 12v.. Is it possible to connect a PCI-E cable of these to the motherboard?

Look:

http://pcmania.com.es/tienda/48634-thickbox/be-quiet-fuente-de-alimentacion-pc-pure-power-l8-cm-430w-430-w.jpg

Red and green, for two GPUS.
