Getting used to CM Quick Fire TK

I'm having a bit of trouble getting used to the numpad side of this keyboard. I use it both for entertainment and office work (I got it with brown switches after all) so I'm really interested having a working numpad.

The main issue appears to be that when arrows have to be used the Return key is offline, and other related issues related to the pad and the state of num lock.

I wonder if I should start mapping keys manually or if it's a matter of getting used to it.

I only have it for a couple of days.

edit: It might be a good idea to have dedicated arrow keys where right control/shift and windows keys are. I doubt many are using them.

PS. And for some reason left-most Windows key does nothing, with the lock off.

Sounds like you may have a defective switch/board. My QuickFire Rapid with brown keyswitches had a defective left control switch. Probably the worst key for me to lose. Contact Cooler Master and you will have to pay to ship it to them, but they will get you sorted out.

I rarely use the leftmost windows key so I don't mind.

Isn't it plain weird that they enable numpad's return only if numlock is off? It doesn't even do anything else.

I wonder if it's indeed time to manually map keys unless they completely disable them physically.

edit: Hrm, they do seem to disable them completely..

I am having the exact same problem with my CM Quickfire TK (one we are talking about here) My Left CTRL bearly works. Could we talk about the process you took to return it to them over PM? I will shoot one off to you asking.

I have been using my Quickfire TK since around Christmas time and I am really enjoying it now I am really liking the size of it and as for the Keys you get used to it eventually and bearly notice the switching of the numlock on and off. It is true that they completely disable the enter key on the numpad when using arrows but again it is something you get used to like I did.

I already had two burned led on my Numpad. KB backlight keep changing to pulse every boot. I may going to get a new mech KB soon. I don't want anything from CM too soon.

Well, I wasn't trusting CM to be able to have perfection in build quality but I don't mind because I was expecting it (from any smaller player out there, not just them): I did try to go for a Logitech at first because they have proven to me they are the absolute masters of build quality for I/O peripherals (even their $10 models seem to last) but to my surprise their MX switches keyboards area is very underdeveloped. They do offer some models but they are either too high-end or too big usually.

I guess this area of technology is generally underdeveloped because people simply don't know much about it. They do get the secret about mice' importance soon, probably because it's obviously needed on FPS-type games but for keyboards, most people appear to accept mediocrity.

As a result we have very few options. i.e. I still like this keyboard but I accept it's hard to find perfection in this side of the technology world in general.

Unless Logitech becomes too serious about it and offers a huge range, but I doubt it..
