Bought G500s from Wal-Mart, G500 in box?! - Page 3

I really hate when stupid criminals do this to try to make a buck. Not only is it stealing in a sneaky way but it makes companies distrust customers and possibility give lower quality service and less support for loyal honest customers. I bought an open box MacBook Pro at Micro Center but inside was a White MacBook. I opened it up while still in the store so the employees would know there was no way I could have done it (it even got the attention of a manager who tried to quickly resolve it). For new stuff with the sticker seal that hasn't been tampered with it's surprising and took more thought on the criminals part. Plus the second one you got was the same incorrect G500 then it might have been quite a big operation or like someone else said an inside job. I've also seen open box iPads at Micro Center where the sync cable looks like it's been through a shredder (they must put their old sync cables in when returning the iPad).

If I remember right though it would be an exchange since there is software in the box and copyright laws prevent walmart for doing a refund on open products that have software in them.

No software, i went to exchange at first, but the 2nd box also had a g500 in it... so i told them to just give me my money back, and went and bought a g500s from Bestbuy, it cost 20 dollars more but at least i got the product i payed for...

Yep, inside job. I'd bet that the electronics associate is to blame, specifically the one stocking the said item. I guess is that he took the G500S out of the box it came in, and swapped in the G500 from another. Doing so allowed him to complete his shift, buy the lower priced one with a 10% discount to boot. So I'd be willing to bet that they have sold a boatload of G500 models with G500s in them!

If I recall correctly, the packaging for older Logitech models had a clear plastic "window" just above the mouse, allowing you to see it before opening the package. Looks like Logitech has stopped doing that. Quite a shame.

It still has a windows. It just has a flap covering it which you can flip over before opening.

Basically when i bought it from wal mart, i was oh thats a decent price comparing it razer mice, so i bought it... When i buy an unopened brand new product i expect it to be right.

That's like saying you went to McDonalds and got a Mcdouble without cheese and then came back and asked for what you ordered. Then you drove home first before checking the bag to make sure you got what you ordered.

On the one hand it's bad that you got ripped off not once but twice, but on the other I would've checked on the spot to make sure I didn't get the wrong thing twice. And when I did I would've gotten a manager involved to report the issue.

Ah, good. It's probably a good idea to always lift the flap and take a peek inside before buying.

I would definitely report something like that to a manager so they can stop it from happening again.

If it was a B&M store I would've just kept returning/purchasing in front of them until I got a G500s to their embarrassment. And also maintain steely eye contact while I'm doing it. Someone needs to be fired.

or have the manager go through each box until a G500s was found, just to see how many he can get through. Probably a wake up call for him.

I didn't leave the store before checking it the 2nd time. I opened it and said right there in customer service, It's the same wrong mouse. Just give me my money.

Then the manager says okay, and hands the mouse to an employee and says to rebox it and just resell that it's not the wrong item, just lesser quality. I was like WOW really?
