As one poster says at the source. PCI-E 2.0 (Sandy) vs PCI-e 3.0 (Haswell). Surely would skew the results somewhat.

The score is held back by combined. It would have helped ever so slightly to both be in PCI-E 3.0, but not enough to hide the substantial improvement. Perhaps the inter IO operations has greatly improved instead of just raw IPC.

Maybe across 3 screens but not with 1 in 3dmark11. You dont gain very much with 3.0 vs 2.0 anyway

X79 has 40 cpu PCIe lanes for graphics, 1150..... ?? doubt it's near this amount 3960x is also overclocked to 5ghz, So many variables therefore i call this test a mahoosive failure
