4770k gets 39 FPS during the CPU test.

i7-3960x gets 49 FPS during the CPU test.

 

everything else in the equation is irrelevant.  i7-3960x is still 25% faster. (albeit the clocks should've been tested similar)

The 3960X has a 3K better CPU score and was ran with pci-e 2.0....

When haswell launches if someone wants to bench vantage and 3dm11 with a 4770K against my 3930K I'll gladly do it lol.

Newer 3dmarks are just GPU limtied, pretty much everyone knows this.

E: this is Xtreme settings, why are we comparing CPUs based on this? At Performance settings, which is what most people run, the 3960X would destroy the 4770K in total score.

It was also clocked 400Mhz higher. Come on Al. Dont start with the excuses. wink.giflachen.gif

Its a single benchmark guys. No need to get all defensive. This is a good thing.

You're comparing CPU's.  GPU's influence the score.

 

You're giving off a false narrative that they are close.

 

4770k cpu score: 12,514

3960x cpu score:  15,505

 

4770k is only 80% of the 3960x's performance. 

 

Why 3dmark11's flawed scoring system scored it the way it did, don't ask me.

Read the edit for why it's as meaningless as any GPU limited program for comparing CPUs. If this was the P setting the difference in CPU score would actually show in the final score.

so 80% of the score with lower clock for 30% of the price? Intel should really fix their pricing, it doesn't make sens.
