What you said to "the high res screen will suck the battery" is "quite the opposite actually". What you posted is hardly an explanation; show some examples of higher-density displays that use less power than lower density displays of similar size and we'll be talking apples to apples.

I might hold a different view of this, but what is the reason for this high of resolution on a notebook when even current SSD read speeds cannot actually keep up playback of 4K content. Heck, its not even just the GPU being the limiting factor, its the content delivery medium too.

people are lapping this up. 1080p on a 15" is already tiny. could it go tinier still ? yes i think so and you may perceive a nice benefit but the DPI has to scale well in order for it to work.

Im not an expert on this one but doesn't DPI lose you effective screen real estate? if so.. apart from a flatter smoother looking image (like smart phones) whats the point? at least with 1440p your on a 27" and the ratios are quite well matched

How bout they focus on giving good battery life as well. If I have a laptop like that, I'd use it alot, and I'd hate to only be getting 3hrs of the charge.
