CPU fan doesnt work

Thread Starter
Hi guys,
I just bought a new rig. Everything was fine for 2 days. Then while starting the PC, it gave an error saying The CPU fan isn't working. I looked in the case and i saw it wasnt spinning. Then i discovered that each time i start the PC, the fan's leaves needs to be pushed softly so it starts working.

I will eventually return to the shop i bought the rig from. But i want to know if there's a simple solution for this that i don't need to bring the rig to the shop and wait for 2 days for it to be cared for.

Thanks.

seems like either power issue. as the power drawn through the headers isn't enough or the fan is faulty

You could try a different fan to see if it is working.

More than likely the fan is faulty, most likely something to do with the bearing. He said the fan works fine after the blades start moving (after he taps them) so it must be getting power.

This sometimes occurs when the voltage is actually too low to start the fan up as well, a result of a speed setting too low perhaps.
