No one actaually beleives that at stock setting this chip is going to run at 100 degrees right?

If the stock cooler is poor enough, or the fan wasn't ramping correctly, it could well reach 100C at stock.

That said, this test wasn't at stock. Many past and current CPUs will reach their throttle points on their stock cooler with only modest OCs.

They wouldn't - I agree!

If that was true then it was a faulty one that someone found in a skip lachen.gif

Yeah I'd have to agree, all these new boards look awesome and seem a little wasted on this new and possibly disappointing CPU. All this innovation, aesthetics and features being put into the boards is great though so I hope they carry through into the next ivy-e line up of boards also. For the first time in a long time I feel all the top brands like ASUS, MSI and Gigabyte have something excellent to offer everyone at every price point and without any stupid gatling gun heatsinks.

These new boards had me considering side grading from 2011 until ivy-e came out because I like them so much (especially the MSI boards) but if they run hot and need to be de-lidded because of the VRMs and GPU without any real performance increase (less than 10%) I don't see the point unless I get seriously seriously bored.

bulldozer was a "future" cpu, what happened to it? it failed, miserably.

consumers buy a PC to use right now, not for the future.
And this is why we still use vacuum tubes.

...right?
