Corsair H80i Extreme Performance vs. Thermaltake Water Pro 2.0

hi,

was just wondering which one some of the more experienced overclockers would choose.

Currently, Corsair H80i is priced @ $89.99

Thermaltake is priced @ $109.99

these are prices from my local microcenter. Would it really be worth the extra $30 for the Thermaltake? Heard mixed reviews and was havin a hard time deciding which one to go with.

been on a Hyper 212+ with a i7 3770k @ 4.5ghz w/ 1.17v or so but, saw temps rising close to 80C during stress tests and never above 70C while gaming.

After having purchased and used an H80i with my Core i7-2600k I can definitely say that it's thermal performance is lackluster even when used with non-stock static-pressure optimized fans. The radiator just isn't that dense. Go for the Thermaltake cooler, I was generally disappointed by the tolerances of Corsair's new mounting system, it just seemed way too loose.

BTW how is it living close to a MicroCenter store?? This coming year I'll be attending a Uni in Boston, generally close to Cambridge, and simply can't wait to see what a MicroCenter is like in person!
